What video game character are you?
I am Mr Do.
I am sedentary by nature, enjoying passive entertainment, eating when the mood takes me, and playing with my food. I try to avoid conflict, but when I’m angered, I can be a devil – if you force me to fight, I will crush you. With apples. What Video Game Character Are You? |
What does it mean for God to Foreknow?
a quote from QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON ELECTION
In Romans 8:29, the text reads “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son…” Does this not therefore suggest that because foreknowledge comes before predestination in the text, then predestination is simply based on God’s foreknowledge: because God foreknows or sees in advance (with full and complete knowledge) what a person will do, and who it is that will respond in faith to the Gospel, He simply predestinates those whom He knows will believe?
It's Back
I don’t know who remembers or who have been reading my blog that long… When I was pregnant with the newest baby I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. After several weeks of suffering the extreme pain suddenly subsided and I went on to have a fairly good pregnancy. Several months later I was beginning to wonder if the pain I had experienced (which is pain I have experienced for quite some time, just magnified) was just a fluke.
But over the holidays I have gotten very depressed (most days I don’t want to do anything, the only thing that gets me out of bed is my kids).. and I am in pain again. Last time it *started* in my shoulder, this time it started in the base of my neck on the same side. The muscles in my neck are very painful, It hurts to turn my head to that side. Now I’m back to having unexplained widespread pain, there are some distinct areas where pain radiates for no reason such as the inside of my forearms, my shins, etc.. after no activity. It takes all of my strength to do simple tasks around the house and take care of my kids. Here are my symptoms I just typed up this morning:
• Exhaustion, always tired even after hours of sleep, Days I have energy are rare. (of course this over years has been blamed on having 2 young children and pregnancy, but it never ends)
• Insomnia / trouble getting to sleep
• Forget things / bad short term memory (when I used to have an excellent memory)
• Muscle pain, very stiff muscles.. feels strained and painful. Messaging, ice, heat, and pain medication barely alleviate pain even after several days/weeks.
• Dull pain/stiffness in joints
• Aching all over, tender pain in odd places for no reason like insides of forearms
• Muscles feel heavy, even after no exercise/strain
• Weak grip
• Heaviness on chest, hurts to breathe too deeply
• Cannot relax body to go to sleep, legs are restless
• Tailbone discomfort, feel constricted, tight (almost always)
• Overwhelming depression: don’t feel like doing anything or caring for house/family.
• Irritable: feeling as if I don’t want to be in my own body anymore, want to escape, can’t stand anything
2009 goals
As my son is nearing preschool age, more homeschool goals are entering my 2009 list. I have learned so much and had so many great memories in 2008. 2009 is to mark the year we first enter into home ownership, as well as attending a new church that is Reformed and a dream to attend seminary.
- Set up a sewing station in our new home and finish lots of projects!
- Specifically to sew: taggie blankets/soft toys, cloth napkins, aprons for the kiddos.
- Look ahead at next Christmas all year long, so I’ll be prepared with special gifts including homemade ones.
- Have Gregory recognize his colors, numbers, and letters.
- Paint and decorate our new house
- Have a great stockpile from couponing
- Keep up with our new joint blog project, Big Red Deals, sharing the deals and savings with those in our local area.
- Teach other women how to be savvy shoppers and save their families lots of money.
- Donate surplus to charity and food banks
- Keep up with everyones birthdays and send them cards
- Start Seminary
- Learn a little about cars from my husband (including how to change a tire, and other simple things that I’ve been too stubborn to learn.)
- Read to the boys more. We used to be really good about this but have gotten away from it since the birth of our newest. It’s very important and I need to make it a point everyday.
- Visit my sister often who is now only a few hours away.
- organize photographs
- get an SLR camera and get into photography
- Spend more time with friends and make new ones
- Serve more
- Get a practice pad and/or snare drum and practice.. introduce my son to it and let him get comfortable holding the sticks and making rhythms. I am a drummer and my goal is to teach him this instrument for home school.
That’s about all I have for now.
Our Favorite New Things
My husband pointed out to me today that we go on vacation to California in 8 weeks. Wow, I didn’t realize it was getting that close. You see, right after we get back from that week long vacation we’ll be closing on our new home. And, right after that we’ll be making arrangements to paint and move in! By that time the lawn will need mowing and it’ll be time for us to adjust to home ownership. It looks as if we are in for one of our busiest years yet as a young family.
Why do I bring this up? I guess because this year our christmas lists revolved mostly around things we wanted for the new house. Here is a highlight of some of our favorite gifts this year:
G man: First learning laptop, slide n’ learn flash cards, train table & train set (too add to his existing set), puzzles, new bike.
Zeke: Jumperoo, learning baby tad (from leapfrog).
Husband: Mechanics tool set, air compressor, torque bits set, socket wrench set, quick release bit driver set (all for his new garage), coffee maker, GPS.
Me: Labeler, Swiffer wetjet, key holder/letter holder for wall, card calendar, tracfone.

Baby Peaches Taste Good
I’m sure all you moms out there know that. Baby peaches in the jar taste good!
Ezekiel has started eating baby food. He’s 4 1/2 months. So far he has had baby oatmeal, peaches, bananas, and squash. I love seeing little babies making faces and tasting their first foods. Who cares about the mess, It’s so much fun mom!
I didn’t think he’d like food so fast. Gregory didn’t care for baby food until he was 6 or 7 months old. He liked his mommy milk too much. I think we may have a serious oinker on our hands.
It’s time for me to take a refresher course on making homemade baby food.
